Felicia Leatherwood for Nigerian Natural Hair and Beauty Show

Los Angeles based celebrity hair stylist and founder, Loving Your Hair With Natural Care, Felicia Leatherwood, will lead other eminent hair stylists and experts to speak at the launch of Nigerian Natural Hair and Beauty show scheduled for May 16th in Lagos.

Other experts expected to speak at the workshop include, Ngozi Opara, Obia Ewah, Wunmi Akinlagun, Ijeoma Eboh, Cassidy Blackwell and Lawrence-Ray Parker of Lawrence-Ray Concepts.

The one day first-ever expo dedicated to healthy hair care, beauty and lifestyle, is being organised by Kinky Apothecary in celebration of its 5th anniversary.

Established in May, 2010 by Nibi Lawson, the Kinky Apothecary is Nigeria’s first one stop natural hair shop set up to bring superior hair products and information within the reach of women in Nigeria concerned about the health of their hair.

Nibi Lawson, C.E.O of the Kinky Apothecary said, “with the Nigerian Natural Hair and Beauty Show, we hope to create a fun yet educational environment where people can relax, mingle, shop, but most importantly, learn.

She pointed out that “in an environment where weaves and relaxers are celebrated, the Kinky Apothercary’s mission has been to change ideals of beauty in Nigeria and beyond by offering resources, products, inspiration and support to women who have taken a step in going against the mould”.

She also revealed plans to set up a salon and flagship store all in Lagos. The event will present Nigerians the opportunity to shop, network, and get expert tips and advice on how to wear the natural hair.
