There's a platform being created where the achievements of the president's administration will be displayed.
The Federal Government has announced a plan to unveil a list of President Muhammadu Buhari's list of achievements as the 2019 presidential election approaches.
The president ended months of speculation when he officially announced his intention to seek re-election next year during a meeting with the National Executive Committee of the All Progressives Congress (APC) on Monday, April 9, 2018.
In a statement signed by the president's Personal Assistant on on New Media, Bashir Ahmad, on Thursday, April 12, 2018, there's a plan in place to convince the Nigerian people that the president's administration has made marks on their lives.
He said there's a platform being created where the achievements of the president's administration will be displayed for everyone to see.
The statement read, "In 2015, then General Muhammadu Buhari of the All Progressives Congress (APC) won a historic Presidential Election, a feat that was achieved through engaging and mobilizing Nigerians for a change. Many Nigerians, both young and old, trusted and worked tirelessly for the great cause.
"In an unprecedented electioneering, millions of Nigerians owned the campaign, and many deployed their treasures, time and talent on the social media to spread the gospel of change.
"Down the line, the people's interest has remained the focus of his government, anchored on the improvement of security, economy and fighting corruption tripod.
"Expectedly, the social media, which served as a rallying point and which was instrumental to his victory, is the most veritable platform for continuous interface with his first and primary constituency; the people.
"Now that he has officially declared his intention to seek the presidential ticket of the All Progressives Congress (APC) and contest for a second term of office in the 2019 general elections.
"This makes it so necessary to have a platform where all the achievements of his administration – ministries, departments and agencies (MDAs) – will be showcased in a very simple way that will make it easy for Nigerians to understand and know their impact in their lives.
"My office and other relevant people are working on this important platform, we carefully and strategically designed it and everybody will be carried along and have a role to play. It's one big house enough for every supporter of President Muhammadu Buhari."
2019 presidential race
Motivational speaker and leadership coach, Fela Durotoye, became the second aspirant to officially declare his intention to contest for president after he joined the Alliance for a New Nigeria (ANN) on February 22, 2018. Omoyele Sowore, the publisher of online news platform, Sahara Reporters, declared his intention to run just days later on February 25.
Ekiti State governor, Ayodele Fayose, was the first aspirant to have officially declared his intention to contest after his announcement in September 2017.
A former Deputy Governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria, Prof. Kingsley Moghalu, Lagos-based businessman, Ahmed Buhari, and IT entrepreneur, Adamu Garba II are also in the running.
Former Vice President, Atiku Abubakar, is expected to be President Buhari's biggest challenger after he left the APC and moved back to the PDP.
