As she gears up to release her long-awaited album 9 this May, the Queen Bee makes a royal return in her latest video. In the fashionable clip, directed by Damien Sandoval, the rap icon struts her stuff in front of a private jet on the runway. While busting some moves with her all-female crew, Kimmy Blanco name checks designer brands and salutes her fellow baddies.
“If you a bad bitch and you in your bag / Go awff!” she raps.
Laurieann Gibson handled the choreography, while Ice-T’s wife Coco makes a cameo. “Shooting this video was AMAZING! It embodies everything that represents me…fly, fashionable, and luxury,” Kim told Complex. “It captured the essence of the meaning of ‘Go Awff.’ In addition, to have my longtime friend and supporter Laurieann Gibson there adding her amazing choreography gave the video an added spark to what it means to ‘Go Awff!’”
Produced by SoundwaVve and Eritza, “Go Awff” is the lead single from 9, Kim’s first album in 14 years, due May 17. “I wanted to make a record that was empowering to girls and women all over the world to get back to my roots and not just my ladies but my boys too,” she said. “When I first heard the beat it made me feel like going awff and I knew it was the perfect record for that…No matter what your hustle is, I use ‘Go Awff’ as a term to elevate and motivate people to keep living their best lives.”
The 13-track album will also feature appearances from Rick Ross, Remy Ma, Rich the Kid, Fabolous, and Musiq Soulchild, as well as production from Buda & Grandz, Mark Henry, and Noc.
