Before surprising fans at Drake’s “Boy Meets World Tour” for the second night in a row in Paris on Monday (March 13), Nicki Minaj did her own mini episode of “Lip Sync Battle” backstage.
In front of a black backdrop, the “No Frauds” rapper mouthed the lyrics to Celine Dion’s power ballad “It’s All Coming Back to Me Now” in the style of the Canadian songstress. She captioned the video: “#CelineDion stopped by.”
Fans were loving the impromptu performance, including Ariana Grande. “Oh this is my favorite thing i’ve ever seen in my life,” she commented on Instagram. “Lol. Thank u ari. If you sing this for me I’ll be your friend for life,” replied Nicki to her “Side to Side” collaborator.
Minaj seemed to be all smiles backstage. Not only did she sing along to Celine, she also wined to Drizzy’s “One Dance” as he performed it live.
“All Jamaican girls used to make that stink face when they whining in the club,” she wrote. “When u bout to go on stage to the most incredible Paris audience of all time. Wow #NickiInPARIS#BoyMeetsWorldTour.”
During the show, Nicki popped up to perform “Truffle Butter,” “Only,” and “Feeling Myself.” At one point, she stopped and asked: “Why is Paris giving me so much life?” Drake replied: “Because they love you, that’s why, baby. Look at you.”
